After My Death, The Villain Blackened Again: Chapter 92
ARC 2: THE FILM EMPEROR FROM HUMBLE ORIGINS (47)
Qi Yuan was so heartbroken that he wanted to cry right then and there, but Father Xu was still watching him. He couldn't lose control of himself.
He didn't know how he was able to smile and keep calm. He even cooperated with Father Xu and managed to ask with some surprise: "My sister got married?"
Father Xu gestured for him to whisper and said in a low voice: "Keep your voice down. If your mother hears this, her hypertension will get worse. She can't be stimulated right now."
He sighed at the end of his words, then whispered again: "We don't know who she had this child with. After giving birth, your sister left her to us and said she was going abroad to marry some foreigner. What foreigner? They're all beasts. Your mother and I didn't agree, and I quarreled with her until she left. She won't even call us. Your mother has been in and out of the hospital because of this, so be mindful. Don't talk about your sister's affairs in her presence.”
So many things happened at home. Mother Xu was hospitalized several times, yet Father Xu never told him. They only ever reported the good news. Qi Yuan looked at the grey hairs he hadn't noticed before on his father's head and suddenly felt very sorry.
They all treated him as a close relative, yet he kept having his own inclinations!
Xu Father's few words caused Qi Yuan's heart to sway several times.
His eyes couldn't help but fall on the little girl again. Could this child be his?
He squeezed his sweaty hands and examined her more closely. He never had a moment like this where half his heart was in heaven while the other half was in hell.
This child is definitely his!
She, she gave birth to his child.
She has always liked Asian faces. There was no way she would marry a foreigner.
After being thoroughly stunned by the news for a moment, Qi Yuan's thoughts slowly returned.
Wh—here is she right now?
He wanted to confirm it as soon as possible and hated that he couldn't turn into a bird so he could fly over to embrace her.
His heart felt like it had jumped to his throat, but he slowly suppressed it back.
He can't lose his head right now. He can't!
"What country is she in? Have you met that man, Dad?"
Father Xu turned rigid, then smiled at Qi Yuan with a mix of frustration: "She hasn't contacted home for a long time. Your mother misses her every day and cries whenever she thinks of her. She's so callous. She doesn't even think about us or her own child and brother."
Father Xu's expression was too sorrowful. Qi Yuan surmised that she wasn't at ease after giving birth to his child and was avoiding the situation by not coming back.
He felt a little helpless over her surprisingly naive actions.
However, he didn't want her to be misunderstood over this matter and spoke on her behalf: "Jiejie must have gotten a burst of inspiration for a storyline and closed herself off. Dad, you know how she gets so busy that she even forgets to eat. Don't worry, Jiejie has always been filial. She'll be extremely sad if she saw how upset you both are."
Father Xu quickly turned around to wipe the tears from under his eyes and nodded repeatedly: "Yes, yes, she's the most filial... the most filial. She definitely won't want us to be upset..."
Aiya really...

ReplyDeleteSometimes, I couldn't help but feel very bothered with this kind of things, where a person or people would hide the truth in the guise of "concern" from the said person involve in the matter, but in fact, wasn't it just because of their own selfishness? I understand where they're coming from but whenever I think of Qi Yuan's experiences and past pains, my heart couldn't help but ache and sympathize for him. They didn't even think of what QY would feel if he were to find out later on, for fear that they would lose another "son", after they've already lost their daughter. But, wouldn't it hurt even more? the more time have gone to pass, with the ignorance of his beloved's real situation. If one day, he were to find out that all of the things that he thought were real weren't really one, QY would probably even feel betrayed, his regret and despair would magnanimously intensify depending on how long it was hidden from him the moment the truth came out. If they were to say it earlier, the pain and despair would still be there, but it wasn't as worse when it was deliberately hidden from him. Besides, if there was a scenario where he may have a chance to see her for the last time, but didn't manage to do so because of this, what do you think QY would feel, knowing that there was a chance, even though it was a single hope amidst the darkness, at least, there was still a little bit of light, but at the moment where everything was revealed, it would all be too late, too late to make up for regrets, and too late to even redeem oneself. Anyway, I'm probably just biased since I hate this kind of setting, no one would feel good to have someone close to them hide important things concerning you even if it might hurt yourself in the process, or in my case, I would say. I'd rather have someone stab me with a sharp knife in one go than a dull one, because a sharp knife would only hurt for a brief moment, but a dull knife would hurt every second it pierced through the skin depending on its dullness.
ReplyDeleteUr not entirely wrong, I also think of it like that....
DeleteThey aren’t wrong at all.
DeleteThis entire arc has made me realize what it means to emulate the likeness God ya! Like the person but hate his ways.
I really hate the way the main characters think. But I’m okay with them.
Similarly, I also hate the story line.
I feel bad for the parents 😢😢
ReplyDeleteIf only they knew what the son they treasured had done to their daughter.
