Qi Yuan has been awake for a month and his body was getting stronger by the day.

All his friends, colleagues, and even reporters came to visit.

Father Xu was always by his side, and Mother Xu would come to see him from time to time.

Only she never appeared.

From the beginning to the end, she didn't come to visit him.

Every time he heard the door, his heart would rise, but when the chatter reached his ears, it would immediately fall back down.

He died once.

Every time he thought back to the feeling of struggling between life and death, it felt as if it had all been a dream.

Life was too fragile. He never thought he'd be so close to death. Therefore after waking up, he was more fixated on spending the rest of his life with her.

He still remembers that day when he walked out of her apartment and how lost he was. He even felt that the entire world had abandoned him.

Although he walked to the entrance of the police station, he didn't go in.

Will she report him?

At that moment, he was suddenly swept up by grief and anger.

He didn't believe she would really report him!

He refused to believe she would really send him to jail.

He didn't enter the police station, but neither did he have the courage to find her again.

After living so many days on tenterhooks, he didn't receive any news about her going to the police.

Later on, he came to understand her intentions.

She never thought of sending him to prison. She just wanted to break off relations.

Does she hate him?

He didn't know if he was doing what she wanted. He didn't dare to call her, but he also didn't dare to break off all connection with her. He could only secretly collect all sorts of information about her, and every visit he made to the Xu family was an excuse to try and meet her.

She had always regarded him as a brother and would never let that happen.

He was just being delusional.

He mistakenly thought that if she wanted his child, she could come to want him as well.

He thought that after a long time had passed, she might turn around and glance his way.

But he kept waiting and waiting.

He even flew abroad to look for her, but he never saw her.

Was she still angry with him?

How long would it take for her anger to pass?

Qi Yuan didn't expect that she'd be angry to the point of not visiting him on his deathbed.

Could it be she really wanted to stay away from him?

I feel like he hasn't really learned his lesson. He seems regretful because his actions drove them apart, not because they were inherently wrong.
