After My Death, The Villain Blackened Again: Chapter 88

AMDTVBA Chapter 88 After My Death, The Villain Blackened Again: Chapter 88

ARC 2: THE FILM EMPEROR FROM HUMBLE ORIGINS (43)

Yan Ge's body was very weak. She didn't want her parents to know, so she told them she suffered from a postpartum hemorrhage.

Two children were hospitalized in succession, and the Xu parents were anxious every day. They didn't suspect anything she said.

Qi Yuan was alone in a different city. After discussing between themselves, they decided to have Mother Xu watch over him.

The Xu couple valued the children equally.

Qi Yuan's body recovered fairly well, and the doctors all said that his recovery was a borderline miracle.

But Yan Ge's situation was comparably grave.

The 'vitality' in the body passed very quickly, which led to her body growing weaker by the day.

She could even keenly sense just when the body was going to expire.

After 'dying' countless times, Yan Ge didn't care much about death.

What she worried about was dying too early and the host deeming her mission to be a failure.

It wasn't clear whether the mission criteria was based on following the host's wishes down to the letter or if the enthralling system had an internal appraisal.

When Yan Ge shared her concerns, Ji Zai had a rare moment of not watching a tear-jerking film.

"Probably not."

Ji Zai was a greenhorn before entering the system space, and it wasn't very sure about this matter: "You're not the same as the host. You found a son for her parents and even gave birth to a granddaughter for them. The marriage with Wang Xiuming has also been broken. Although the operation was extremely expensive, you still have enough fortune for the Xu couple. Even if it doesn't fully adhere to the host’s wishes, it shouldn't be a complete failure."

Ji Zai's tentative analysis didn't appease Yan Ge's heart at all.

She was very discouraged.

She experienced failure one after another and began to question herself under Ji Zai's constant brainwashing. Was it true that there was something wrong with her ideology?

But even if she was worried, she didn't show it, especially when Mother Xu was around. She always looked like an ordinary person.

They were currently discussing a name for the little Yan Ge.

After the baby came out of the incubator, Mother Xu brought her over for Yan Ge to see.

She couldn't believe this was a life she gave birth to.

Yan Ge looked tenderly at the little babe, but her heart was actually roasting: too ugly!

Really, too ugly!

She didn't inherit any of her or Qi Yuan's good looks.

These genetics definitely came from Qi Yuan's side of the family...

"The baby looks too much like our Xiao Yan. Look at the eyes and mouth, it's like she was carved from the same mold. At first glance, you two look like mother and daughter."

Mother Xu was proudly looking between her granddaughter and daughter.

In all honesty, she and the old man worried that their daughter would give birth to a foreign devil1. They were only relieved after the baby was born.

Yan Ge was anything but calm when she heard Mother Xu's words.

It didn't seem like she was being praised—!

When Mother Xu was away, Yan Ge would spend most of her time arranging her own affairs and finishing up screenplays.

Her doctors and nurses were constantly asking her to rest. They even offered to give her medication if the pain was interfering with her sleep, but she rejected it all.

Her time was limited, and she couldn't afford to waste it.

The author has something to say:-
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––

Having seen that someone in the previous chapter criticized Yan Ge for giving her heart to Qi Yuan, I must say my darlings, don't read the story so vaguely. You guys actually think that Yan Ge's love is unconditional. If it wasn't a last resort, she wouldn't have been willing!!!

  1. Foreign devil (洋鬼子 — yáng guǐ zi)a derogatory term for westerners from the pre-liberation period↩︎

  3. My heart kinda hurted for the first arc, and the emperor’s pain when he found Yan Ge. But this time?? No sympathy. Qi Yuan deserves so much worse. I do not pity r**ists.
