After My Death, The Villain Blackened Again: Chapter 80
ARC 2: THE FILM EMPEROR FROM HUMBLE ORIGINS (35)
"Jiejie." He sighed and said, "You're really not attracted to me?"
Yan Ge spread her hands on the sofa and stared at him blankly. When she heard his question, she answered with almost no hesitation: "No."
"Jiejie, do you still like Wang Xiuming?"
"No."
"Then what kind of man do you like?"
"I don't mind anyone as long as we don't have a sibling relationship."
Qi Yuan was unable to respond for a long time.
All of a sudden, he blurted out: "It would have been better if Jiejie didn't take me in for the inheritance back then."
When the words came out, he smiled to himself.
If there was no back then, he would have never been acquainted with Yan Ge.
If she never helped him, it couldn't be said what dark world he would be living in.
He was smiling, but the expression on his face gradually turned bitter.
He was all grown up, yet this was the first time he had the urge to cry.
But what would it solve? He was a man, and crying didn't suit him.
After suppressing his emotions, Qi Yuan immediately said:"Jie, you're still a public figure, so calling the police won't be good for you. I'll go turn myself in and say I killed someone, that way I'll stay in prison for the rest of my life."
He spoke up to this point then looked straight at Yan Ge: "Jie, it's just, could you pretend to like me for a day before I turn myself in?"
"No." Yan Ge did not hesitate: "You're my brother, and my affection for you is the kind towards a sibling."
"Is it impossible?" He was a bit disappointed and closed his eyes again. Although his fingers were trembling, he still had a smile on his face that looked extremely gentle in the lighting.
"Impossible."
One decisive word.
Qi Yuan stayed motionless for a long time.
Yan Ge didn't want to maintain this ambiguous posture with him.
Qi Yuan must have sensed her impatience and spoke again.
"Jie." He said: "Don't feel guilty after I leave. You've been good to me and did what you promised at the start. You did nothing wrong. I'm the one at fault. I'm sorry, Jie."
After he finished speaking, he gradually got up, changed his clothes at an unhurried pace, and walk towards the door.
His legs moved slowly, and every movement was sluggish.
He waited for her to stop him, but she didn't.
She didn't tell him to stop. Even when he turned around, it was to find her attentively watching TV.
She never looked at him.
He grasped the doorknob, his hold loosening and tightening. At that moment, his heart suddenly felt immeasurable pain.
He was smiling when he called out to her: "Jie."
His voice carried a hint of a smile to mask his crumbling heart: "Jiejie, I'm leaving."
"En, fine."
He listened to her perfunctory tone and had a sudden urge to rush up and hug her tightly enough to meld their bodies together.
This dreadful thought made him look down on himself. He laughed in a self-deprecating manner. She didn't say anything else, and so he asked: "Jie, if I leave, will you adopt another brother?"
"No."
"Why?"
"You're my only brother."
When he heard this, he didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Is there a reason chapter 79 was skipped?
