Qi Yuan didn't understand why the woman could be so unruffled. Dammit, the little white face was about to be ousted by the golden master. How could she not tell him to go hide?

The woman can continue to be a relaxed silly white sweet, but Qi Yuan couldn't pretend to be stupid. He just asked her delicately: "Do you two have something to talk about? Should I stay out?"

"No need." Yan Ge said: "If you're feeling bored, you can watch some TV or go play on the computer in the study. I'll call you when breakfast comes."

This was the tone of speaking to a child.

Qi Yuan had nothing to say. He simply sat on the sofa and turned the TV on.

This woman isn't afraid of anything, what's there for him to be afraid of when he's barefoot¹ himself?

Later on he wondered, instead of treating him as a little white face, was this woman using him as a spare tire² to stimulate Wang Xiuming?

Yan Ge didn't know the twists and turns in Qi Yuan's heart. She changed into a set of comfy home clothes. The host was good-looking and could make ordinary clothes look fashionable on her person.

Wang Xiuming didn't personally buy breakfast. He had gone downstairs and called his assistant. After smoking two cigarettes on the first floor, he took the breakfast from the assistant and carried it upstairs.

He didn't really understand what Xu Yan was thinking, but he was currently a public figure and his career was still on the rise. The only reason he starred as a male lead in his upcoming film was that Xu Yan was the screenwriter. Being at odds with her right now would shatter his hard-earned reputation.

As soon as he entered the door, he found a man sitting on the sofa, and a very young one at that.

The handsome man looked like he ate soft rice at first glance³. Wang Xiuming was stunned for a moment. If it wasn't for the familiar furniture layout, he would have thought he had walked into the wrong place.

Yan Ge had already taken the breakfast from his hands: "Thanks a lot. Is there anything else?"

When Wang Xiuming saw Qi Yuan, his first reaction was that his head was green.

The him who was infuriated then noticed Yan Ge's surprisingly calm and collected expression. It was not at all like the flustered reaction of being caught giving him a green hat.

When he came back to his senses, he felt this was happening because Yan Ge had been stimulated last night and so she brought a man home to upset him.

Wang Xiu Ming was relieved and his face eased by a lot. Smiling, he asked Yan Ge: "Who's this sitting on the sofa? Care to introduce us?"

"My foster son." Yan Ge answered and turned to call Qi Yuan: "A Yuan, come over and eat."

Qi Yuan wanted to sneer at her gentle voice. This woman really regards him as an emotional lubricant!

Wang Xiuming's impression of Xu Yan was that she was a nerd who always immersed herself in writing scripts. Not to mention striking up a conversation with men, she wasn't even willing to attend social events.

Now she not only hides a little white face in a place she never allowed outsiders to venture into, but she also treats him tenderly.

He immediately felt unwell from the jar of vinegar that turned over⁴ in his heart. He was more certain that Xu Yan still cared about him and was using this kind of method to provoke him.

Since she did it this way, it meant that she had no plans to divorce him.

Wang Xiuming was simultaneously at ease and infuriated. He froward at her, saying: "Xiao Yan, I was in the wrong last night. You didn't care about me lately and I've been under a lot of pressure. I also drank too much last night, which led me to make that kind of mistake all men do."

I was too lazy to add a footnote for 'golden master' mentioned in the first paragraph, but for anyone who's not sure what it means, the term refers to a financial backer or sponsor. In these kinds of celebrity stories, they almost always have the connotation of a 'sugar daddy/sugar momma'.
