On the one hand, he had come from a maddeningly destitute place with no money or lodgings. The rent hadn't been paid for a long time and the landlord was sure to revile him when he returned. Qi Yuan honestly didn't plan on going back to that.
On the other hand, he wanted to see when the woman would reveal her fox tail1.
When the door knocks began, Qi Yuan was standing in the kitchen and didn't immediately answer it.
He waited for a while, but the bedroom door showed no signs of opening.
The knocking changed to the sound of a turning key, but the door was locked from the inside. Even with a key, the person couldn't open it.
Having realized this, the loud knocking resumed.
Qi Yuan felt the woman must have heard the commotion by now. Still, she didn't come out. Thinking it was better to leave a good impression on her, he pretended not to hear and kept himself busy in the kitchen.
Yan Ge slowly got up and opened the bedroom door. Amidst the loud knocking, she went to bathroom, washed her face, then greeted Qi Yuan in the kitchen: "Wow, there's even breakfast. A Yuan is really awesome."
This exaggerated praise didn't match the enthusiasm of the gaze that sized him up.
Qi Yuan expressed deference with a shy laugh: "There was no other food in the refrigerator. Please make do with this."
"It's already very good." Yan Ge casually took a bowl of egg soup and finished it in one sitting. She continued to compliment Qi Yuan with a smile: "It tastes pretty good."
How can it taste good? There was no salt and only boiling water was used to make the soup... Qi Yuan felt this woman was a real hypocrite.
"Someone's knocking on the door." He reminded her: "They've been knocking for a long time."
"Oh." Yan Ge walked slowly towards the entrance.
Qi Yuan waited for her to walk past him before turning around to look at her back.
Although he acted calm, his heart had been pounding. When she first reached out from behind to grab the bowl of egg soup, he discovered that she wasn't wearing a bra and thought she was going to embrace him.
She didn't though, and this could only mean that she planned to reel him in slowly.
This woman was a master at flirting!
Qi Yuan's heart was somewhat gloomy. The woman looked like she was an expert at playing with men and there he was currently being treated as a naïve house pet by that same woman. It felt like he had become a little white face.
Did he look like a little white face?
He hooked up the corner of his lips and retracted his gaze. If this woman wants to play, then we'll see who will be played in the end.
The moment Yan Ge opened the door, Wang Xiuming hugged her.
"Xiao Yan!" Wang Xiuming said: "Xiao Yan, I was wrong. Don't be angry, let's start over again, okay? I don't want you to leave me."
He was quite strong and so Yan Ge didn't push him away. She simply stepped on him then broke free from his arms: "I'm not angry, and I haven't thought about leaving you."
Yan Ge glanced at him: "Can you first buy me two servings of breakfast? I'm hungry."
Wang Xiuming was at a loss over her reaction. He thought she would wail and wreak havoc.
"Okay, I'll go right away." He turned around and went to buy food.
Yan Ge fixed the clothes he had wrinkled with some distaste then raised her head to meet Qi Yuan's astonished gaze: "What?"
Qi Yuan's heart was incredibly shocked, but his face still pretended to be calm when he asked curiously: "That person looked like Wang Xiuming?"
"En, it's Wang Xiuming." Wang Xiuming was now a well-known film emperor. It wasn't surprising that Qi Yuan recognized him. She seemed to think of something and paused on her way to the bedroom. Turning around, she asked: "Did you want his autograph? "
