Ex-Girlfriend Blackens Every Day: Chapter 29

EBED Chapter 29 Ex-Girlfriend Blackens Every Day: Chapter 29

ARC 2: FIRST LOVE EX-GIRLFRIEND (17)

Yang Lu was the disciple of the game master in the game. She was adorable and had the style of an air-headed. She had accrued a lot points from single otakus1 and they regarded her as a cute little goddess. Her charm was no less than the person in first place on the beauty rankings.

But what if this simple-minded little goddess was shamelessly clinging to the male god despite knowing he already had a girlfriend?

Linlang straightforwardly invited the game master to practice and let him show off everywhere.

Since the heroine relied on the murky waters of this game where game masters all vented on her behalf, then she wanted to leave her with no armor or place to go!

In any case, Yang Lu's title of the 'cute little goddess' was obviously overstated. Players were simply giving Fu Xi face when they tolerated this clumsy and disastrous teammate.

Yang Lu was getting worn down from escaping players who wanted to kill her when news from the real world stunned her.

Fu Xi disclosed his emotional experience under his real name.

[Plain Ancient Records]: I hereby swear to love and cherish Linlang all my life.

He said he had a girlfriend and was in talks about marriage. They have had their ups and downs, and it hadn't been easy to stay together. He was deeply in love with her and had absolutely no thoughts of having an affair. He especially didn't want Yang Lu to come between them and genuinely abhorred her intervention.

Linlang smiled when she saw it.

talents employed for a high price2

It also seemed to imply that this was the end for the female lead.

Was the hero formally breaking off relations with the heroine?

How amusing.

Linlang looked at the screen and watched the girl dressed in red skulking off. She was beyond pleased.

Sorry, whether you're a man, woman, or something in between, if you dare scheme against her, she will never be softhearted. As for kindness... she touched her heart, then figured it was time to head to bed.

Perhaps it was a way of easing her mind, Fu Xi expended some effort uncovering the culprit behind that harrowing night at the hotel. It turned out to be none other than Zheng Siyou, the hotel chain's heir apparent. He was also a famous game master known to be Yang Lu's number one suitor.

Every time Fu Xi accompanied Linlang in the real world, Yang Lu in the game would appear depressed with no energy to do anything.

Zheng Siyou naturally wasn't willing to let her remain sad. He logged out and hatched an insidious plan meant to destroy Linlang and shatter her image of a goddess in Fu Xi's mind.

How could a fastidious person like Fu Xi accept an impure girlfriend?

Yang Lu was also very cooperative. She talked about Linlang going to look for Fu Xi with an ignorant appearance and smashed Fu Xi's phone so he wouldn't be able to receive her call for help.

Neither of them thought that the seemingly weak Linlang was actually a savage. She kicked the man into having a life-long disability and her memory loss managed to garner a lot of pity from Fu Xi.

Now it was Linlang's turn to go for the kill.

Her method wasn't as 'simple' as that of Zheng Siyou, which sought to destroy a person by having them humiliated. If Ji Linlang's psychological defense had been strong enough, there might have been some leeway for a counterattack. Peeling a layer of skin from Zheng Siyou was an easy matter. The prouder a person was, the more intolerable they were of their own blemishes, making them more susceptible to attacks of that nature.

Linlang personally enjoyed 'psychological warfare'.

Once, she and her friend Junwan participated in a thousand-year-long elimination competition where they had to survive in a western world with a vampire setting.

How was it done at the time?

Back then, she had the guts to disguise herself as a docile and harmless human girl then went on to imprison the countess who was infatuated with her. After swapping identities, she enticed the agents who came to kill her.

There was a couple among them. It was said that immediately after the game, the two immediately fell out and turned into bitter enemies.

Linlang earned a new title: Bloody Mary.

A beauty one could offer up their lives for.

Linlang's fingers wrapped around the flower's branches, and the blood-red color reflected in her eyes had a subtle light.

She just left the house for a while and returned to find that all the vases had new residents.

Red spider lilies; the tenderness of a demon.

What did that kid from the Xie household want to convey?

Ha, if you don't say then I won't know.

She dialed a number. Please read this at onemachineshow.blogspot.com

"Fu Xi? Let's meet."

The other side was quiet for three seconds before the excited voice of a man came through.

After recovering her memory, Linlang moved out of Fu Xi's place. The process was smooth because he didn't dare to stop her.

Her request to meet with him occurred after a week.

Fu Xi arrived at the designated place an hour earlier.

It was at a minor road that passed by their high school. The area was surrounded by thickets of weeds. There was a heavy rainfall the previous night which washed away the marks left by the animals on the road, thus making the place seem even more desolate. He didn't ask why she chose such a place, nor did he tell anyone where he went.

Linlang arrived with a red umbrella an hour later.

Amidst the faint drizzle, she raised her umbrella and smiled slightly. Her plum-red lips were hard to make out distinctly, and the scene resembled the bewitching ghosts from old folktales. Once enamored, you would lose your life in an instant.

Fu Xi was caught in a trance.

Was this person real? Does she really exist in his life?

"Did you wait long?"

"No, I just got here."

Shaking his head softly, he put the umbrella away for her then greedily looked upon her face without restraint.

He had missed her to the point of madness.

The delicate hand that slid into his palm was as smooth as jade porcelain, though the temperature was shockingly cool.

Fu Xi didn't hesitate and immediately grabbed her hand.

Linlang smiled at him. The flushed corners of her eyes had a beauty that could draw souls in.

"Do you remember this place? It's where we first met." She seemed to recall the past as she pointed at a pile of dead grass. "It was raining that day you hit me with your bicycle. Later, you came to the hospital to give me make-up lessons and we slowly got to know each other. Making it to third year was really stressful. You used to buy cakes I liked and sketch cartoon villains in my notes to make me laugh."

"It was so good," she murmured, "Why couldn't that time last forever? Why can't people be happy forever?"

Linlang raised her head pitifully. "Fu Xi, do you love me?"

"I love you. I love you very much." He answered without hesitation. "Linlang, I can't live without you."

She stood on tiptoe and kissed him. Her long fingers tangled in the man's thick hair and the lip marks had a disorienting fragrance.

Fu Xi lowered his face and kissed her to the greatest heights.

Then, he tasted salty tears.

All of a sudden, he was at a loss over what to do.

She stifled her cries as she said, "But Fu Xi, I don’t want to love you, and I don’t want to be with you. Do you know how much you've scared me since we got back together? I always feel insecure and the fear reminds me of that day. I tried so hard and prayed you'd come save me. but where were you? By another woman's side—"

He hugged her trembling body as the regret crashed into him like a tide. 'I'm sorry', these two words were all he could repeat.

I'm sorry for being a scoundrel. Please read this at onemachineshow.blogspot.com

"This is the last time I'm meeting you." She revealed an exhausted expression. "This city, the people in it, I feel sick and scared of it all. Fu Xi, let's go our separate—"

These words were like a sudden clap of thunder, mangling his flesh and rendering him cold from head to toe.

"No!" He rejected it and hugged her with such strength, it was as if he wished to rub her into his body. He begged her with a hoarse voice, "Linlang, give me a chance. I can protect you. I really can protect you. Stay with me.

"Don't go anywhere else, just... stay by my side. Don't go anywhere else."

Stay with me and I'll be your light from now on.

I swear-

I'll cast away the shadows and clear the gloomy haze for you.

  1. Otakua Japanese term for a person with consuming interests in games/manga/anime↩︎
  2. T/NI'm basically a poem illiterate so take this translation/interpretation with a block of salt. All you really need to know is that Fu Xi's game ID—Plain Ancient Records—alludes to this quote from a classical poem and there's some word play going on. Linlang's name can mean 'talents' as used in this line and the word for 'employed' could be interpreted as 'betrothed' or 'betrothal gift'. With that in mind, the second half of the quote could mean 'Linlang's hand in marriage for a high price'...or something more romantically eloquent than that. I can't tell if Fu Xi's game ID was just a coincidence (it's a popular ID name in its own right) or if he's been low-key simping for Linlang all that time↩︎
