After My Death, The Villain Blackened Again: Chapter 68
ARC 2: THE FILM EMPEROR FROM HUMBLE ORIGINS (24)
Yan Ge noticed the displeasure in Qi Yuan's expression and reassessed the matter. She felt that given Qi Yuan's life experiences, it might be a bit awkward to make him experience a young love.
Worried that her words would lead him to rebel, Yan Ge immediately backtracked: "Jie was just saying. It's okay not to have a young love, that way your sister doesn't have to worry about her good cabbage getting ruined by pigs1."
This remark clearly pleased Qi Yuan. The sadness on his face was replaced by a smile of comprehension: "So you were sounding me out."
How can this be sounding out? It was obviously her deepest concern.
However, Yan Ge did not delve any further.
A brother and sister enjoyed a good meal.
Qi Yuan was afraid Yan Ge would change her mind and moved back into the apartment that same night.
When he returned to that small room after so much time had passed, Qi Yuan gripped the blanket for a long time and couldn't fall asleep. After turning over several times, he simply got up and left the room.
Yan Ge was typing away on the computer. She had gotten a lot of criticisms during the divorce, but the strange thing was that numerous companies sought after her screenplays.
She's been busy writing as of late and planned to take advantage of the momentum to open up a studio.
Qi Yuan silently walked behind her. At first, he only wanted to see what she was writing, but once he approached her, he soon heard her ask: "Why haven't you slept yet? Is something up?"
She turned around and looked at him with a smile: "Is there something on your mind?"
That kind face was like an elder inquiring about the wellbeing of a junior.
Seeing her smile like this, Qi Yuan suddenly felt irritated.
She clearly wasn't that much older than him, so why did she always treat him like a child?
Did he look that young?
"I want to be a star." Qi Yuan blurted out. Realizing that he revealed something he'd been mulling over for a while, he carefully examined Yan Ge's expression.
"A star?" Yan Ge had raised this guy for so long and only now got to hear such a child-like dream from him. Although surprised, she was also very pleased and replied with almost no hesitation: "Okay."
She got up and led Qi Yuan to the sofa to sit together: "Do you want to be a star or a performer? How do you want to position yourself? Are you planning to use your appearance or your skills?"
Qi Yuan was momentarily choked by the series of questions she fired at him. In fact, all that was going through his head was that they were holding hands.
Her hands were small and slender. While they felt a bit cool, a fire rose in his heart the moment she pulled him, causing him to feel somewhat panicked.
The first formal contact between them turned out to be merely hand holding.
When he first he met her, he knew with a certainty that she was going to have a physical relationship with him, but up to the present moment, the only physical contact they had was to hold hands.
His eyes fell on her hand. Just when he mustered the courage hold it, she released him the next moment and turned her head to look for the TV remote.
Seeing how Qi Yuan didn't answer for a long time, Yan Ge turned to him and asked: "What, you haven't thought about it yet?"
Qi Yuan restrained his impulses. Tilting his head, he leaned close to her and asked with a slightly hoarse voice, "What's the difference between a performer and a star?" The final syllable was slightly drawn out, like an imperceptible hook trying to reel a person in.
- Good cabbage ruined by pigs (好白菜被猪拱 — hǎo báicài bèi zhū gǒng)basically means something/someone valuable being spoiled or taken by an undeserving person↩︎
You were certain because actually you're the one who's been wanting it the most, haven't you? 🤭😆
